About the Author  Dana Vaigneur (Va-Naye) Van Gieson grew up in Jackson, South Carolina, with her two sisters, Connie and Jane, and parents, Byron and Margaret. Her Vaigneur relatives live in Ridgeland, South Carolina, and her Henderson relatives live in the Ware Shoals and Greenwood area. Dana was influenced by the many wonderful cooks on both sides of her family, and one thing that she was taught very early in life was that when you took food to a family get together, church function, or entertaining at home, it had to taste good!  Dana now lives in Greer, South Carolina, with her husband, Mike, and
children, Jake, Katie, and Sam. Their children have been very active in sports
at Northwood Little League and Riverside High School. She continues to enjoy
cooking and spending time with her family.
